Okay thank you for all your help! sorry for the stream of questions!
As far as I know, parking on campus should be fine after 5pm and over the weekend. Before 5pm you'll either have to use pay-and-display or find some on-street parking.
I haven't replied to your email yet as I don't know the answer :) I know there is pay and display parking around the uni (but I don't know if this is in place on weekends) and very limited on-street parking in the surrounding streets.
I'm trying to find out more. I'll be sending out final participant information later today and I'll include whatever I find out in that.
I've asked this in an email however it seems your replying here.
Is there any parking in Southampton university as some of us have to drive there. If that is a possibility or somewhere near. Thank you.
That should be fine.
I think last year some people brought their own desktop workstations, would this be okay this year and plug into the existing peripherals in the lab because I know I have all the software I'll need and I can install anything I want?
You’re right there’s no 3ds max or Photoshop on the Windows machines (though I believe Photoshop is on the Macs) - and because of the security policies I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to download it (though you can try - I guess it depends on if it needs to be installed or if it can run straight from the download). The GIMP and Blender are on there but I understand that isn’t ideal if it’s not what you’re used to.
I was recently told the guest computers have no 3ds Max or Photoshop. Could you confirm this. Also if so. Is there a possibility to be able to download 3ds max and other student free software such as Krita.
I responded to your email but I'll respond here as well incase anyone else is wondering.
We'll open the GGJ site closer to the event. For now just make sure you have a ticket from here and that's all you'll need to participate :)
i can find the southampton location on the Globalgamejam website but i cant join
